A bit about us

Hello! I'm Ashley, the face behind Precious Paws! 

It's true to say that animals haven't just featured in my life, they have shaped it!

Growing up in an animal loving family, dogs, cats, and many more furry friends were a massive part of my childhood! In fact, it's a standing joke within my family that there are barely any photos of me as a child where I wasn't cuddling a pet!

Then came the horses! 

I found my l passion for horses around the age of 6 and was hooked! If I wasn't at school or asleep, I was at the stables! 

After leaving school, I went on to manage the riding centre I grew up on. I also worked with several dressage riders and show jumpers and loved every minute!

I then ventured into 'the corporate world'. While successful in my roles, my heart was always with animals. 

But then, in 2014 I adopted my heart dog, Bear! Bear had just come from the streets of Bosnia, was painfully thin, terrified and had been through hell! But I knew the second I looked into her eyes that she was my dog of a lifetime! Bear changed everything for me. As she grew stronger, more confident and learned to trust in me, our bond just grew stronger and stronger. To see her transform in front of my eyes and to know I played a part in that was incredibly special to me. That's when I knew I needed to follow my heart and spend my days with animals again, This time with dogs!

So, in 2015, Precious Paws Wirral was born, and I've never looked back! 

Dog walking isn't just a job to me, it's my vocation in life!

In 2018, Alfie (Alfie Moon to his friends) joined our family. Alfie is the most fun loving clown of a Jack Russell you could ever wish to meet! He and Bear were a fantastic little Duo for over 6 years!

In February 2024, Millie joined our family. Millie had been part of the Precious Paws family for nearly 8 years, but, due to a change in circumstances, she needed a new mum. Having loved Millie since she was 3 months old, there was no question in my mind. She was coming home with us!

We very sadly lost Bear in April 2024. We miss her dearly. However, she had a truly fantastic life and her legacy lives on in so many ways. xx
